After months of listening to our patients, clinicians, and community, we are thrilled to announce that we are expanding our services into a brand-new space at The Patch, Gloucester.
Why now?
Over the last few months, we’ve been listening. As we built our new five-year strategy, we spoke with patients, clinicians, and our wider community. The message was clear, while hospital care is vital, patients need a non-clinical space to breathe. Many of you told us that you spend enough time in hospitals for appointments. You asked for a welcoming, safe environment away from the clinical setting to access our support services—and we’ve made it happen.
Is Linc leaving the hospital?
No, not at all. We aren’t going anywhere!
Linc staff will remain present across both sites, and we hope to be even more visible in the hospital going forward. However, most of our charity’s administrative and support functions don’t need to be in a clinical ward. Moving our HQ to The Patch allows us to grow and offer even more dedicated services to local families.
Introducing: The Linc Counselling Service
Our recent research was clear: patients need more emotional support, and they need it away from the hospital. We’ve listened, and we are thrilled to announce the launch of our very own Linc Charity Counselling Service. This new service will offer blood cancer patients and their families access to free counselling without lengthy waiting lists. For over 20 years, Linc has funded Clinical Psychology within the hospitals—and we will continue one post.
By maintaining our hospital funding while launching this new community-based service, we are creating a “joined-up” approach. This allows us to provide a more bespoke, wider wellbeing offer that meets the real-world needs of local families.
Our move to The Patch is what makes this possible. This space will serve as our new hub where we can greet patients in a warm, non-clinical environment and grow our support services for years to come.
Why The Patch?
We chose The Patch because it perfectly balances accessibility with a community feel:
- Location Just a stone’s throw from GRH, right next to the Gloucester Bus Station and opposite the Train Station.
- Convenience We can offer patients a reduced-rate car park nearby when visiting us.
- Flexibility It is an innovative, flexible space that will grow as Linc grows.
Commitment to our supporters
We know that every penny we receive is a gift from you. Linc remains committed to operating efficiently to ensure your donations directly benefit those who need them most. We have secured an incredibly competitive rate for our space at The Patch. This will support the expansion of our services beyond the walls of Gloucestershire hospitals, increasing patient choice and deepening our connection with the communities we support.
