On its first anniversary, our Winchcombe Street shop is thrilled to launch the new ‘Re-loved’ collection, an innovative upcycling initiative that turns damaged clothing and accessories into stylish, unique pieces. In the UK, 49% of textiles go to waste annually but our dedicated volunteers have already invested over 150 hours to create 200 items, keeping 918 kg of CO2 out of the atmosphere and diverting 85 kg of textile waste from landfill. This project is a win-win, allowing us to pursue our sustainability goals while also generating vital funds. While we might get an average of just 7p for a damaged item sent for recycling, our ‘Re-loved’ pieces are selling for around £4 each, with all profits directly supporting local blood cancer patients.
